DC Home Decor: All DC condos have the same floorplan
/Every DC home buyer will discover what every Washington DC realtor already knows: ALL condos have the same floorplan (ie. not including boutique condos). This is primarily true for bigger condo buildings of 70+ units. The decor and interior design similarities of these condos are based on the design trends of the period the building was built.
The majority of condo buildings built in the early 2000's have the "traditional" open floorplan with the kitchen and bathroom by the entrance, and then the livingroom next to the bedroom. The finishes are light bamboo or oak hardwood floors, light brown cabinetry, black granite countertops, beige ceramic tiles in the bathroom, and exposed ductwork.
We are seeing a new design trend among new construction condos with smaller square footages and "unique" floorplans w/ barn doors, pocket doors, long hallways, and no bedroom windows.
