DC Home Decor: Too many stairs

Most people don't think about the number of stairs or levels in a home until it is time to purchase. When looking at homes, the most important criteria which comes up during the initial buyer conversation, is the following (ie. Top 5):

1. Location

2. Number of Bedrooms and Baths

3. Basement

4. Parking

5. Large Kitchen

As you can see the number of stairs or levels is no where to be found. It is not until home buyers visit homes and walk the space, that stairs become relevant. Stairs or levels in a home become very important when considering home buyers with kids or older family members. Most families prefer to purchase homes that have all the bedrooms on the same floor in case of emergencies. Older family members tend to have a difficult time navigating stairs.
